Life Cycle Management Working Group (WG7) Meets in Mumbai India
WG7 in Mumbai
The 15288 standard was developed by the ISO/IEC Life Cycle Working Group (WG7) which is a working group
within the Systems and Software Subcommittee (JTC1/SC7). This working group met in Mumbai India 17 November to 22, 2011. At the meeting there were
20 delegates from 11 countries
and three liaison organization.
Meeting highlights included:
- System and Software Guides Consolidated
ISO/IEC TR 15271 Guide for ISO/IEC 12207 and ISO/IEC TR 19760 Guide for ISO/IEC 15288 will become ISO/IEC TR 24748.
- Part 4: One year project extension
- Part 5 Software Development Planning - NWIP passed on Oct. 10,2011
- New quality standard - ISO/IEC 15026 System and Software Assurance is designed as a four part document:
- Part 3 (System Integrity Levels) will be published first quarter od 2012
- Part 4 (Assurance in the Life Cycle) is in the DIS stage
- Requirement Engineering Standard ISO/IEC 29148
Estimated publication date is fourth quarter 0f 2011
- The Integration/Harmonization of IEEE 1220 with ISO/IEC/15288
This project was assigned to a study group.
- Commence work on a new standard for system and software verification and validation. A special working group is studying a taxonomy on V & V
- ISO/IEC TR 30103 - Framework for Product Quality Achievement
- CD Ballot second quarter of 2012
Other 15288 News
- South African Defense Systems (ADS) group is reviewing the use of ISO/IEC 15288 with 12207 and 15504 on their new software projects.
- ISO/IEC 15288 was adopted in May, 2003 for use in the US by the DoD.
- The UK MOD has formally accepted 15288 as the framework for its Acquisition Policy and Process.
- The Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) has implement ISO/IEC 15288
- Croon Elektrotechniek B.V of Rotterdam, The Netherlands announce that they are now using ISO/IEC 15288
